PENGUIN: AWAKENING

Penguin Medicine is all about themes of awakening, loyalty, parenthood, unconventionality, filtering out low level energy from our lives, and the element of water.

When penguin comes into your life, or when you feel the desire to call upon penguin medicine, their energy can help you move through an awakening that you are experiencing. The awakenings often deal with an area of your consciousness that is expanding, and you may feel afraid to dive deep into the new expansion. Something might be holding you back from fully embracing this direction.

Penguin can help you with that as they are masters of adaptability. They are birds who “fly” in water rather than air. They are unconventional to say the least, and they are here to teach us that being unique and different is not only “ok” but it is something awesome to be embraced.

Penguin medicine also helps you filter out low level energy from your life, people, places and situations that are not healthy for your growth and that can block your expansion. Penguins actually can drink saltwater, whereas most animals find that impossible. Penguins have a natural ability to filter out the salt and only assimilate the hydrating life-affirming water.

Penguins also symbolize commitment and loyalty. They stick together and support one another through thick and thin, and they are monogamous lifetime partners. In this way, penguin medicine highlights the need for conscious community in order to be supported, strengthened and nourished.

Penguins are devoted parents, a rare trait among birds. Many other birds forget about their eggs as soon as they have laid them, but Penguins are deeply concerned about the wellbeing and health of their babies. They guard their eggs with their life, and when the babies hatch they keep them close to their body to protect them from the harsh climate. The parent couple does not leave the baby’s side until the baby is grown enough to take care of itself.

Penguin is a powerful totem for ALL protective parents and those who support them.
